Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in a pediatric setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. - Suturing and gluing of simple wounds
- Must be able to read x-rays
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers and staff
- Ability to deal with pediatric patients in an acute care setting
- Service oriented attitude is necessary, must be able to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Working knowledge and comfortable working with electronic medical records systems for chart documentation, test result review and writing prescription
- Comfortable working as the only provider in the facility with support staff
- Covid vaccination required (medical accommodation considered)
Preferred:
- Spanish speaking is a plus
