Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in an orthopedic setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.     The Nurse Practitioner role involves the proficient management and coordination of patient care within their assigned population.     Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and deliver exceptional and appropriate patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, collaborating physicians, and the Director of Nursing (DON) regarding patient care.
    • Conduct patient rounds, contribute to daily care decisions, write orders, and facilitate scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures.
    • Record daily visit notes in an electronic medical record in a timely manner, with dictation services available.
    • Maintain accurate records related to professional services, including attending to billing reports, claims, and correspondence.
    • Provide services as requested by UHC or as required by bylaws, policies, rules, or regulations of UHC or any affiliated healthcare facility.

    Education and Experience: 

    • One year of relevant experience preferred.
    • Nursing experience in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, ICU, Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, or General Practice preferred.
    • Current Medical License in State in which you are applying, and unencumbered DEA License required.
    • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
