Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in an orthopedic setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.     Responsibilities

  • Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  • Assesses, diagnoses and develops appropriate plan of care to treat homebound patients
  • Monitors the patient’s condition and responsiveness to the treatment provided
  • Acts as an agency representative with patients and their families as well as with other health agencies, groups and organizations
  • Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
  • Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
  • Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing required from an NLN accredited program
  • Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in NJ with prescriptive authority; maintain a CDS and DEA
  • National certification as an Adult or Geriatric Nurse Practitioner
  • 2  years of APN experience and/or significant experience as a registered nurse
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills
  •  

    Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors/outdoors with Client/Customer contact and clinical equipment and use of phone and computer; valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
