Nurse Practitioner - Nursing Home examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals in a nursing home setting. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Nursing Home requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Nursing Home requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) and state authority for advanced practice. Board members assist in the oversight of patient care, recommend new treatment methods, and are champions for UHHH with their colleagues and the community. Nurse Practitioners or Physician’s Assistants who interact with a geriatric population are ideally suited to share experience and insights.
Job Overview:
-Experience and understanding of Home Health and Hospice are preferred, but not required.
-Estimated time spent each week varies for each provider, but is often about 2-3 hours per week.
