Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice. We are hiring Advanced Practice Providers with NICU Experience for locums coverage in New Jersey!
This will be a 6 month assignment with a great chance of extension! We are seeking 4 Locum Providers 2 for days, 2 for nights, schedules are flexible for 24's and 48 hour shifts!
We have a 56-bed level 3 unit. We care for patients as small as 22wks (although not routinely that small). We have about 10% of our yearly 1200 admissions to the NICU being ELBWs. We do pediatric surgeries and can care for complex congenital malformations, diseases etc with pediatric subspecialists. We need neonatal nurse practitioners or neonatal PAs with experience to assist in transitioning to a more academic rounding model!
Shifts 12, 24, and 48 hour shifts available for scheduling.
Gestational cut off: 22 weeks 5 days if the infant is vigorous.
