Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist jobs in La Place, LA
Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients with stable and chronic illnesses. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist plans and coordinates rehabilitation, home health care, and follow-up services for patients with acute health issues. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. · Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases
· Prescribe pharmacologic treatments
· Serve as health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate
· Must have experience working with diverse population
· Must be a critical thinker with the ability to problem solve
· Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be LA licensed NP in good standing with the State of Louisiana
· Three – five years of NP pediatric experience preferred
