Being a Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist plans and coordinates rehabilitation, home health care, and follow-up services for patients with acute health issues. Requires a master's degree. Our APRNs:
· Perform initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
· Advise patients regarding treatment plans and prescription medication instructions
· Obtain and record a detailed medical history of each patient
· Analyze reports, test results, and/or personal examinations to diagnose and formulate treatment plans
· Demonstrate integrity, care, and compassion while working with patients, families, and staff
· Provide accurate ICD-10/CPT codes and documentation in a timely manner
· Maintain confidentiality of all patients’ records
· Assist supervising physicians
· Maintain requirements for continuing medical education
· Perform other duties that align with exceptional patient care

Education/Experience:

Language Ability:
All APRNs must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. APRNs must also respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies, or other members of the business community.
Reasoning Ability:
APRNS must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, as well as the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and employ mathematical skills to prescribe medications.
Computer Skills:
This position requires basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
