Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients in a cardiac unit. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Unit Director, perform nursing patient care
duties for the assigned unit or department. Plan, provide, and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with
the established patient care philosophy. Facilitate individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the
nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies
and procedures. Relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care, maintain satisfactory relations with
other departments and nursing units; and participate in all phases of education.

Minimum Education
X Associates degree in Nursing X Required
X Bachelors degree in Nursing X Preferred
Required Skills

Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS)
X ACLS within 6 months of hire
Licenses:
Valid licensure in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse (RN) or multi state/compact RN license
Minimum Work Experience
Two (2) years of ER, ICU or cardiac experience required.
