Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients in a cardiac unit. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Makes patient rounds. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Cardiac's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides medical services to patients, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention
· Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases
· Prescribe pharmacologic treatments
· Serve as health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate
· Must have experience working with diverse population
· Must be a critical thinker with the ability to problem solve
· Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be LA licensed NP in good standing with the State of Louisiana
· Three – five years of NP pediatric experience preferred
