Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care jobs in Hawaii

Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to manage care for patients in an ambulatory care setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care works in outpatient settings, responding to high patient volumes in short-term spans and dealing with unpredictable situations and issues. Follows established guidelines and protocols. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Ambulatory Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The RN - Ambulatory Care provides high quality, comprehensive primary nursing care to patients throughout the lifespan and is the first line support for providers on clinical issues. As part of a clinical team, the Ambulatory Care Nurse (ACN) works at the top of his or her licensure to enhance the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of care through the performance of professional nursing responsibilities. The ACN collaborates with the providers on clinical issues and assists in the delivery of nursing services.   


    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    1.  Must have a current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Hawaii

    2.  Graduate from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing

    3.  CPR Certified

    4.  Requires minimum one year of nursing experience, preferably three years
