Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to manage care for patients in an acute care setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Northwest Acute Care Specialists, P.C. (NACS) is an independent emergency medicine and ambulatory care practice group that contracts exclusively with Legacy Health to provide emergency medicine and urgent care professional services.
Job Summary
The APP is an integral part of the Emergency Medical team and assists the flow and direct care of the patients within the Emergency Department. They can either be a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
Our EDs are staffed at all times by a Board-Certified Emergency Physicians. Our APPs are an important member of the Emergency Department team and must have the ability to function efficiently, at times independently without direct supervision, and collectively within the team setting is a must.
NACS APPs are required to comply within their scope of practice, hospital credentials, other laws, regulations, NACS policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.
