Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care requires a master's degree. Definition of Position:
Provide patient care for a variety of disease categories including: cytopenias (anemia, thrombocytopenia), polycythemia, thrombocytosis, leukocytosis, iron deficiency and overload, venous thromboembolic disease (VTE), bleeding disorders, and hemoglobinopathies (sickle cell, thalassemia) provide patient care for a variety of cancers. The Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Provider will work under the guidance of a Physician and will provide compassionate care to cancer patients.
Provide clinical management of patients in Hematology & Medical Oncology. Coordinates appropriate, timely patient care under physician supervision, for a defined patient population(s), focusing on identified expected unit/optimal outcomes, individualized to the patient. Prioritizes care based on the patient’s needs, abilities, and preferences.
Essential Job Functions:

Education:
Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners required.
Experience:
Two years minimum Hematology/Oncology experience.
License, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Unencumbered Oregon License NP, BLS certification.
