Nuclear Pharmacist under the direction of a physician, compounds and dispenses radiopharmaceutical drugs to medical care providers. Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. POSITION SUMMARY
Provides clinical and distributive pharmacy services to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Incorporates educational, clinical, and technical pharmacy functions to prepare medications, assess and monitor medication therapy. Assists facility staff with medication-related issues and provides drug information to nursing and medical staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Requirement:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy or equivalent. Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS) degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Training in proficiency of age-specific therapies for ages served by the pharmacy.
Minimum License Requirement
Unencumbered license as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of West Virginia or ability to obtain licensure upon hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Medium Work: Occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs with a maximum lifting of 50 lbs.
