Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Missouri
Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. As a nuclear medicine technologist, you'll prepare patients for testing by administering radioactive drugs. Working under the supervision of a physician at a hospital, physician's office, diagnostic lab or imaging center, you'll help patients understand the procedure, prep and deliver radioactive drugs, operate equipment, keep records and more. Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience in relevant setting and specialty
- ARRT/NMTCB Certification
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current state license (if applicable)
