Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Iowa

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Cardiovascular Medicine, PLLC is seeking a full-time Board-certified Nuclear Technologist!!

    Position Summary:

    The Nuclear Technologist is part of our Diagnostics team. This position enables the facilitation of positive patient outcomes by performing all aspects of nuclear medicine including radiopharmaceutical injection, study acquisition and processing. Equipment used includes: Gamma Cameras, PET Scanner, RB82 Infusion Cart, Computers, Well Counter/Scalers, Survey Meters, Dose Calibrators, Stress Testing Equipment, Syringe Pumps, EKG Machines, Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, Holter Scanning Equipment, Oxygen Equipment, Pulseoximeter, Glucometer, Defibrillator, and Office Equipment.

    Education and Experience:

    • Graduate from accredited nuclear medicine technology program plus 2 years nuclear cardiology experience.
    • Current Iowa and Illinois permits to practice as Nuclear Medicine Technologist. BCLS certification required, ACLS preferred.
    • License to operate a motor vehicle and proof of auto insurance.
