Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Schnitzler Cardiovascular Consultants, PLLC, (“Practice”) is looking for a "nuclear medicine tech" to add to our Exercise Stress test Laboratory.
The candidate will play a vital role with our cardiac patients and are a critical member of the health care team. The "Nuclear med tech" needs to understand and know the fundamentals of the anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system, medical disease processes, medical terminology, communicate with other healthcare team members, and ECG monitor strip interpretations.
Our preference is to hire a retired Cardiac RN or Foreign Medical Graduate who can set up, prep, conduct, and monitor patients during Exercise Treadmill tests, both individually and as part of the Nuclear Myocardial Perfusion Stress tests in the Practice’s outpatient Nuclear lab.
The work hours are up to 16-20 hours a week between clinic hours 8:30 am-6:00 pm
Education Must Include:
- High school Diploma
- ECG Certification
- ACLS Certification
- CPR Certification
-Nuclear Medicine Technology Credentialed
-Must have active TMB Medical Radiologic Tech Certificate/License
- University degree or courses in Biology
The Practice has one location and is located in the Medical Center.
