Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology.     Job Description

    Naval Nuclear Laboratory has internship opportunities for college students to spend the summer of 2025 getting great work experience, in great locations, supporting the world's greatest Navy.

    The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) has an exciting opportunity to start your Human Resources career with an Occupational Medicine Nursing Internship. We are seeking college students pursuing Nursing, Occupational Medicine, or a related degree to join our HR team. The successful candidates will provide professional support in our Bettis Laboratory medical clinic. You will have the opportunity to participate in the development, implementation, and communication of Human Resources policies and procedures and partner with business operations to meet strategic organizational goals and objectives.

    Program highlights include:

    The NNL Internship is an approximate 10-12 week program starting in May/June 2025.

    An internship position may result in a return internship or full-time employment offer upon successful completion of the program.

    Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

    Candidates for the Occupational Medicine Nursing Internship position must be:

    • Pursuing Occupational Medicine, Nursing, or related BS degrees from an accredited college or university
    • Must have completed at least first full year of college by May 2025
    • Enrolled/continuing in a degree program throughout this internship


    Students must attach most recent unofficial college transcripts and resume to the employment application.

    Preferred Skills
    • Cumulative minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
    • Prior related internship, medical certifications, co-op or work experience (paid or volunteer)
    • Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD) or Naval Nuclear Program experience
    Compensation and Benefits

    NNL offers an outstanding Compensation and Benefits package for interns and co-ops which includes:

    Pay Range

    $23-$41 per hour

    The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
