Job DescriptionJoin the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Fluids Laboratory Engineering unit in a Metrology Engineer role! The Fluids Laboratory Engineering unit at the Bettis Test Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated metrology engineer to join our team.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support for the calibration of pressure, temperature, and electronic equipment and sensors using manual procedures and in-house and commercial software applications.
Ensure adherence to company calibration and safety requirements.
Provide training to and ensure qualification of calibration technicians.
Identify and implement strategic equipment and process improvements and solutions. This includes the development of new capabilities and the upgrade of calibration standards, procedures, and software.
Administration of the site-wide calibration management application.
Perform troubleshooting on existing calibration equipment. Investigate equipment performance and identify and correct any problems.

Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills - Demonstrated experience in metrology fundamentals.
- Experience working with calibration standards for pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work independently and on a team.
- Experience with standard Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), National Instruments LabVIEW (preferred) and Database Management Systems (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal customers, outside vendors, and procurement specialists.

Pay Range$92,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually
