    The Naval Nuclear Laboratory also has an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations around the globe. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.

    Job Description


    Radiological Controls Engineering is seeking engineers with prior relevant work experience.? Radiological Controls Engineering's is primarily responsible for ensuring that radiological work at NRF is performed in compliance with local, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

    Specific duties for Radiological Engineers include but are not limited to:

    Provide engineering support to a nuclear production facility in which the following work is performed: movement of nuclear fuel, assembly and disassembly of nuclear test, remediation of highly contaminated components, hot cell operations, water pool operations, and shipment of nuclear fuel and/or waste
    Reviewing and concurring with technical work documents
    Assist in the scoping and planning of complex radiological work
    Development of standards and local processes to ensure compliance to applicable requirements
    Performing audits and surveillances of documents and work processes
    Support the Emergency Response Organization through drills and exercises.

    Radiological Controls Engineers are required to obtain and maintain the following qualifications, all of which are obtained on-site:

    Radiation or Contamination Worker
    Engineer of Radiological Work

    Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill


    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.

    Preferred Skills

    Current/Previous Qualification as an Engineer of Radiological Work, Radiological Controls Technician, or Engineering Laboratory Technician.

    Pay Range

    $82,400 - $128,800 annually

    Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
