Nuclear Engineer designs and initiates processes to gain benefit from nuclear energy and radiation. Conducts research into problems of nuclear energy systems. Being a Nuclear Engineer designs and develops nuclear equipment. Monitors testing, operation, and maintenance of nuclear reactors. Additionally, Nuclear Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Nuclear Engineer work is closely managed. Those seeking one of these positions must be US citizens with successful completion of one year of Algebra, and who can meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance.
