A-Rent Test Equipment (a-rent.com), founded in Chicago in 2019, is focused on the reliability of the electrical grid. We’re supporting America’s transition to renewable energy, electric vehicles and an overall lower carbon future.

We rent specialized electrical test equipment used by our clients nationwide to test switchgear, transformers, cables and other electrical infrastructure.

Our business is growing rapidly and we’re recruiting for Test Equipment Technicians to join the team at our Chicago area location. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with test equipment while fulfilling rental orders, processing returns and executing shipments. Each day is different from the day before.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Complies with company safety and quality programs
• Reliable, high energy and possesses a strong work ethic
• Motivated to learn and has a strong attention to detail in their work
• Prepare orders for outbound shipments in a timely fashion
• Inspect and inventory all returned equipment and perform functional tests
• Comfortable working with computers for inventory control and shipping software
• Valid drivers license and insurable driving record required
• Able to work standing up throughout the day, handle warehouse equipment and lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

We are seeking reliable, hard workers with the motivation and ability to learn about technical equipment and follow established processes. Candidates with a background in electronics/electrical equipment is a plus.

Pay range is $21 - $27 per hour, based on experience.
