Non-Destructive Test Technician uses automated and manual techniques including ultrasound and radiography to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in equipment. May be responsible for testing engines or other mechanical components, storage or transport vessels like pipelines or containers, or major structures like bridges or tunnels. Being a Non-Destructive Test Technician requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Non-Destructive Test Technician works under moderate supervision. Seeking detail-oriented & thoughtful candidate to perform and oversee building assessments using specialized equipment (training to be provided) throughout the NY metro area. Occasional work to be performed in other East Coast States including CT, NJ, PA, MD, DC etc.
Project types vary considerably and will include scanning through walls, floors, roofs, water testing building envelopes and conducting detailed assessments for buildings old and new.
Many of the projects undertaken require off-hours working sessions, early morning starts for construction site projects and late evening hours (4pm – midnight for example) for others (frequently school buildings). Weekend work is only very occasional. Candidates must possess a driver’s license, proof of eligibility to work and demonstrated computer/writing skills.
Candidates must be willing to work remotely to complete assessments and technical reports in a timely manner. (Time required onsite vs working remotely varies weekly - must be flexible with working hours).
OSHA 40 Hour (Construction SST card), 4-Hr Fixed Scaffold & 16Hr-Suspended Scaffold essential to start - Online courses can be provided by CBZ.

Bachelor’s degree or Certified Course in buildings / Construction or design related field strongly preferred
