    As a Design and Engineering (D&E) Reliability Lab Technician, this role will support product development by performing hands-on build, prototyping, proof-of-concept, diagnostic and troubleshooting testing, of electrical and mechanical systems, in a consistent, repeatable, safe and efficient manner. Another key responsibility is to support at least one of ASML's development labs which includes maintaining testing equipment, instrumentation, and tooling in a ready state, including but not limited to calibration tracking, configuration management of test stands and test equipment, and safety monitoring as well as other tasks in support of projects and production operations. The third primary responsibility is ownership, planning, and scheduling activities within the lab, and maintaining the lab with a 5S environment. Basic computer skills are required for test stand operation, as well as for scheduling and communicating with customers.

    Roles and responsibilities

    Lab management and coordination:

    • Supports, trains, and supervises, users on the correct use of lab equipment
    • Support setup and operation of test equipment, data collection and analysis.
    • Purchase general use lab supplies, and support equipment purchases
    • Maintain the calibration status of the lab per ASML ISO requirements
    • Maintains inventory of equipment.
    • Enable lab users to follow ASML WoW and safety regulations for:
    • Storing, handling, and disposing of project related materials
    • Maintaining test benches, prototypes, and miscellaneous hardware
    • 5S S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety) keeping the laboratory safe and organized

    Prototyping and electrical/mechanical build activities:

    • Read, understand, and execute using wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical/mechanical technical documents
    • Electrical Cabinet assembly, wire hookup, and commissioning
    • Use of standard mechanical tools
    • High Voltage assembly
    • OSHA and NFPA compliance
    • Mechanical build assembly, including precision alignment

    This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires daily onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, inspections, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

    Education and experience

    High School Degree with 5 years relevant work experience

    High School Degree and Technical Certification (i.e. Electronic Technician) with 3 years relevant work experience

    Associates Degree with 3 years relevant work experience

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, electrical or mechanical, with 2 years relevant work experience

    Minimum qualifications - the hired candidate must possess all of the "required" qualifications to be initially considered for the position including:

    Technical skills

    • Advanced mechanical and electrical build/assembly capability (required)
    • Precision mechanical alignment capability (required)
    • Analytical and pragmatic approach to troubleshooting (required)
    • Ability to specify and operate advanced instrumentation (Mixed-signal oscilloscopes, mechanical alignment and metrology tools, programmable power supplies, climatic chambers, optical alignment tools, thermal test equipment, data acquisition modules etc.) (required)
    • Fundamental knowledge of working with AC and DC Power Distribution systems (preferred)
    • Experience understanding documentation of and creating from base materials (preferred):
    • Interconnect Cables and Harnessing
    • Electronic Racks, Cabinets, Boxes and Control Consoles
    • Printed Circuit Boards
    • Shielding, EMC & grounding concepts
    • Safety regulations (e.g. NFPA/IPxx/CB reports) (preferred)
    • Quality improvement methodologies (5S, Lean Principles, TQM) (preferred)

    Software/Tool Skills:

    • MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Teams (Required)
    • MS Visio, Planner (Preferred)
    • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) or Distributed Control Systems (DCS) (Preferred)
    • MATLAB (Preferred)
    • LabVIEW (Preferred)

    The essential job functions for this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Work in a fast-paced office and lab environment, including working in a standing or seated position for long periods of up to 12 hours per day, 5 days per week.
    • Commute to ASML's facility and report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis.
    • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
    • Perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, computer keyboarding (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), filing, calculating, and use of telephone or other handheld electronic devices, continuously for up to 10 hours per day, five days per week.
    • Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 16 Kilograms.
    • May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs - 0-10%
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
