Job Summary :
Generac Clean Energy Solutions (GCES) is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Test Technician to support the development of test and production equipment for Generac’s next-generation renewable energy products.
You will build electrical and mechanical systems for manufacturing tests. You will work closely with the engineering team to understand component requirements for these systems and lead the inventory management at our facility in Reno.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Build electrical systems and mechanical fixtures per blueprint specifications.
Lead inventory procurement process for all test systems based on BOM.
Create an inventory management system to track parts and maintain the system.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked inventory storage area.
Own logistics to deploy test systems at various facilities.
Engage with design engineers and provide feedback to improve overall system design.
Actively participate in the daily maintenance of the lab environment.
Assist with the Generac engineering laboratory audit, our 5S methodology, and participate in continuous improvement projects / programs.
Challenge ideas and decisions with reasoning from first principles.
Travel to different facilities worldwide to collaborate with teams and deploy our solutions.
Minimal Qualifications :
Associate’s degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
4 years of experience in an engineering development environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience operating and maintaining a wide variety of hand and power tools, and lab equipment.
Electrical and Electronics industries experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills :
Working knowledge of inventory systems such as SAP or equivalent.
Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality / quantity of work.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Be engaged, proactive, and positive when taking on challenging tasks, owning assignments, and taking accountability for personal and overall team success.
Physical demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use their hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls;
and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, crouch, bend, and reach above the shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
