  • TEST, Inc., located in Peru, IL, is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician/Analyst.

    NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROVIDED.

    Rotating on-call weekends and holidays required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Receive, log in, store, and dispose of lab samples as necessary
    • Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions, such as filing paperwork, reviewing data and entering data into computerized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
    • Standardize, calibrate, clean, and maintain all assigned analytical equipment
    • Perform daily quality control checks on laboratory equipment
    • Perform basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
    • Prepare and maintain all applicable documentation, including instrument calibration and maintenance logs, bench sheets, and quality control charts
    • Prepare samples, reagents, media, and bottles as required
    • Conduct laboratory analysis of basic to moderate difficulty
    • Remain aware of and meet holding time/commitments required by external and internal clients
    • Maintain clean work area and wash glassware, as needed
    • Maintain inventory of chemicals and equipment at acceptable levels
    • Follow laboratory and company policies and procedures
    • Safely dispose of water, wastewater, and other environmental samples
    • Perform all tasks in a safe, responsible, and ethical manner in accordance with laboratory safety Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and policy
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Live within 20 miles of Peru
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Ability to apply basic math skills to perform calculations and accurately measure substances, liquids, and/or solutions
    • Ability to work with samples and chemicals that may emit unpleasant odors
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Strong work ethic
    • Must be able to communicate effectively
    • Ability to welcome feedback
    • Desire to contribute to a positive work environment
