Advance Products and Systems, LLC is seeking a Shipping Manager to manage daily shipping and distribution operations. Candidate will ensure orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Keeps organized shipping records, including statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped, and receipt dates
· Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders
· Determine viable fulfillment services that have the reputation, work ethic and experience to deliver products on time and in expected condition
· Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to ship product
· Accurately updates spreadsheets and stock information
· Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information
· Sends booking requests to shipping lines
· Communicates with other personnel about incoming packages
· Problem solves for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders
· Performs administrative duties like answering phones, updating records, and providing excellent customer service
· Maintains good customer relationships and answers any customer questions
· Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that pop up regularly; works to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase warehouse and dispatch efficiency
· Develops knowledge about freight and sea shipping regulations and practices
· Works as a team player to assure shipping deadlines are met
· Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notices, pick slips, bills of lading, etc.
· Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment
· Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders
· Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and other managers to optimize processes
· Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received
· Maintain an inventory of packaging products including labels, boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, and packing tape
· Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies
· Verify and prepare International shipping documents
· Report to management on activities and issues
· Supervise and lead subordinates (receiving clerks, shipping clerk, etc.)
Requirements
· Proven experience as shipping manager
· Solid knowledge of logistics procedures
· Experience in using EDI and preparing shipping documents
· Knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
· High school diploma, GED, and/or some College
· Proven experience in verifying, preparing, and processing International shipping documents
