    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation with integrity and confidentiality of information and files including HR policies, procedures, and workflows.
    • Maintains access, customization, and functionality support of HRIS (PAYCOM)
    • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level member, workforce director or management.
    • Assist in the administration and tracking of employee leaves, such as FMLA, PFML, ADA Accommodations.
    • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
    • Assists with required documentation gathering for all new hires, including but not limited to Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files, employee background checks and employee references.
    • Assists with recruitment and interview process, including tracking the status of candidates in HRIS and responding with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
    • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
    • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, career fairs and retirement celebrations.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources and workforce training.
    • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations regarding employment.to include HR related required posting and annual updates to include L&I changes.
    • Conduct NHSC site verification in compliance with state and federal programs
    • Aids in BPHC job postings and communication to NHSC applicants.
    • Collaborates with university manager for workforce development strategies.
    • Provide back up support of payroll.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Travel may be required.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred. Three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required. PHR or SPHR preferred. Experience working with employee benefit plans required. Experience with Human Resource Information Systems and report generation preferred. Valid driver license and insurance required.

    Skills:

    Computer skills required. Knowledge of legal requirements affecting human resources functions required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent organization. Knowledge of legal requirements affecting human resources functions preferred and follow-up skills required. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required. Ability to work under tight time constraints, handle high stress and changing priorities required. Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with people at all levels in the organization. Exhibits excellent relationship building skills. Valid driver’s license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe, respectful, equitable, and inclusive environment required.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to move around the facility; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
