Position Purpose : The Prevention Supervisor is responsible for development and supervision of the delivery of prevention services consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
As the supervisor of Prevention, you'll oversee the delivery of services, including but not limited to the development of workplans, ensuring services are consistent with the workplan and documentation is accurately entered into the appropriate database.
In addition, you'll provide supervision and professional development of Prevention staff and serve on the RJC leadership team.
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in counseling, psychology, Social Work, Addiction Studies, Education or related field.
- Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or higher within 18 months of hire.
- Minimum of three years experience in the field of substance abuse or problem gambling prevention services.
Qualifications :
- Demonstrated education, training or experience with evidenced based practices.
- Prior experience facilitating groups.
- Public speaking experience preferred.
- Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources.
- Understanding of substance use disorders and symptoms in the DSM 5.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Agency insurance requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Essential Responsibilities :
- Work prescribed hours and be available to work additional hours when necessary. Overtime may be required.
- Promote de-stigmatization of the disease of addiction.
- Understand and demonstrate knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework and Public Health Model of prevention.
- Coordinate services with referral sources and other community resources.
- Provide direct service hours to community.
- Respond to requests for presentations at various civic, school, school and community organizations.
- Meet outcome expectations of funding sources.
- Accurately complete required documentation and reports within prescribed time.
- Design prevention programs to meet the needs of the community and / or special interest groups.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the disease process of substance use disorders, the core functions of prevention, and apply these appropriately to job duties.
- Use and / or develop evaluation tools to measure outcomes for prevention programs.
- Professionally represent Rosecrance and the Prevention program at all Rosecrance / work-related functions.
- Develop and supervise the organization and delivery of clinical services within the Prevention program area.
- Implement and maintain systems of accountability to monitor department utilization and staff resources.
- Ensure the delivery of quality service, positive outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
- Promote the Team concept throughout the program and the organization.
- Mentor staff by providing feedback on job performance, professional development and their personal and emotional balance.
- Ensure implementation of licensure standards for the department.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental action plans as required by grant funding.
- Monitor and report quarterly, bi-annual, and annual grant updates.
- Stay abreast of local, state, and national Prevention programs, trends, research, and other relevant information.
- Works toward accomplishment of goals and objectives articulated by prevention funding proposals.
- Serve as a member of the Prevention Team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
- Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : Based on education, experience and credentials
- Starting rate for Bachelors - $21.11 / hour
- Starting rate for Masters - $24.44 / hour
- Additional $.50 / hr with CPS certification

Schedule : 8 hour shifts
Monday-Friday; 8AM-5PM
