Network Operations Manager manages the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets the organization's performance objectives. Implements policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and support efficient operations. Being a Network Operations Manager provides network administrators and technicians with training in the best practices and technologies. Ensures logging and documentation of daily network operations incidents and changes. Additionally, Network Operations Manager leads troubleshooting and resolution of routine network issues and conducts root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements. Automates routine tasks using scripting or basic programs. Advises on budget expenditures to ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Network Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Team

    Upstart is establishing a centralized Debt Sale Affidavit Support function, which will be a sub team within Fraud and Risk Operations. The Affidavit Support Manager will oversee specialists who prepare, review, notarize, and otherwise process debt sale affidavits in accordance with contractual obligations and state regulations. This role will report to the Operations Manager-Back Office, Fraud and Risk Operations.


    Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Columbus, OH

    Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.

    Travel Requirements - This is an on site role based in our Columbus, OH office.

    As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.


    How you’ll make an impact:

    • Develop, manage, and lead a team of specialists that analyze requests for affidavits from 3rd parties, prepare affidavits, ensure accuracy of information contained in systems and affidavits, and ultimately submit affidavits in accordance with procedures, contractual obligations, and state regulations.
    • Review work product generated by team members for completeness and accuracy.
    • Notarize affidavits and related documents.
    • Ensure the accuracy of information in Upstart systems and records.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with debt sale operations stakeholders to ensure processes align to rapidly changing requirements.

    What we’re looking for:

    • Minimum qualifications:
      • 1 year experience as an L3 manager within Upstart Operations or in a similar external role.
      • 2 years experience conducting research and/or investigations.
      • Demonstrated ability to interpret requests, conduct research, and prepare findings.
      • The ability to obtain and exercise an Ohio notary license. Applicants must secure the necessary Ohio Notary Commission within 60 days of commencing employment. Two attempts will be provided for passing the licensure examination.
      • Keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
      • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
      • Ability to focus on complicated and/or repetitive tasks for extended periods.
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
      • Experience working and managing cross functionally in a large, complex environment.
      • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
      • Prior experience managing the support of a legal function/department.
      • 2 or more years of investigative experience in the areas of disputes, complaints, and/or fraud.

    This is a Non-Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid an hourly pay rate, on a bi-weekly basis, and are eligible to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week, or over 8 in a work day if required by state law.

    Columbus,OH - Anticipated Annualized Base Salary Range
    $57,100—$79,000 USD
