Network Operations Director manages the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets the organization's performance objectives. Implements policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and support efficient operations. Being a Network Operations Director provides network administrators and technicians with training in the best practices and technologies. Ensures logging and documentation of daily network operations incidents and changes. Additionally, Network Operations Director leads troubleshooting and resolution of routine network issues and conducts root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements. Automates routine tasks using scripting or basic programs. Advises on budget expenditures to ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or it. Typically reports to a director. The Network Operations Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Operations Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     And what will you do?

    The Director of Operations is responsible to work with and across all areas of the company to improve safety, quality, 5S, and customer service by eliminating waste, improving our equipment reliability and up time, driving continuous improvement (CI), creating, and implementing standards and sharing best practices across all sites. The Director of Operations will be responsible for the Quality (co-managed by the Purchasing Director), Planning, and Process Engineering teams.

    • Must be able to handle multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, detail, and timeliness.
    • Own and deploy through your team all improvement plans across all facilities by working with Operations Managers, Purchasing Managers, Trucking Managers, I.T. Programmers, etc. to execute CI initiatives aimed at reducing waste and improving customer service.
    • Guide, assist, develop, and foster a culture of Safety, Quality, 5S, and CI by effective communication and mind set of problem-solving tools and techniques.
    • Drives and leads CI activities to improve area’s performance in safety, quality, on time performance, and site key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Understands and ensures a structured process to solve problems with root cause and validated corrective actions. Ability to conduct these activities and explain EOs the corrective actions and the expectations of them.
    • Establish and monitor a budget and resource plan for companywide process improvement actions.
    • Oversee manufacturing, maintenance support for all facilities including activities
      such as technical capability & capacity analysis, new capability introduction, plant layout, new facility start up, plant safety, process improvement and functional training.
    • Understands and monitors (with site management team) capacity, constraints, and sales forecasts to allow for growth while maintaining “Right. On Time. Every Time.” and proper production planning.
    • Provide and push for new and innovative strategies and techniques to improve overall business performance in the areas of, process improvement, manufacturing engineering, production planning.
    • Lead in the development of appropriate standardized procedures including work instructions, operating procedures, control plans, manufacturing best practice, and quality assurance.
    • Understands, monitors, and implements company standards to ensure compliance and improvement.
    • Coordinate all sites processes to share and implemented best practices. Have “One CSMI” approach to operations.
    • Define, maintain, and conduct compliance audits, improvement evaluations and reviews with each site to drive results ensuring improvements are consistent with current standard procedures.
    • Participate in the building, buying, and/or updating of facilities to ensure they are inline company vision for future improvements and methodology and support growth plans.
    • Participates in CapEx execution including equipment specifications, ordering, implementation at facilities, and final site approval to deliver expected operational benefits on time and budget. Participate and facilitate all site development of annual CapEx plans.
    • Achieves operational excellence in the areas of 5S, respect for product, inventory management, asset utilization, labor efficiency, scrap, transportation efficiency, and machine/equipment uptime and repair cost.
    • Able to recognize and systemically eliminate waste. Able to define and apply processes and standards. Coaches all levels of the organization on waste recognition, CI, process/standards, and lean manufacturing principles and their implementation.

    • Possess strong understanding of manufacturing computer systems, engineering design tools, and lean manufacturing tools.

    Education & Experience:                                                                                    

    Minimum Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a team.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in setting a strategic direction and executing the plan; exposure to customer interactions and management

    Preferred:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience preferred in a manufacturing environment.
    • Process Engineering experience.
    • Operations Automation experience.

     

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment to perform the core functions listed in this job description. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies as well as communicate verbally and electronically. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and in a non-temperature-controlled environment. While performing the core function of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and stand.
