Network Operations Director manages the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets the organization's performance objectives. Responsibilities
Safety
· Ensure compliance with all Diamond and site-specific safety requirements for all stakeholders, to support and achieve zero injuries, incidents or accidents
· Assist with Employee, subcontractors and vendor safety orientations
· Project site safety inspection and audits
Quality Control
· Assist with effective communication regarding tasks and changes in operations as defined by Supervisor
· Maintain a clean and safe physical environment
· Site inspections to ensure compliance with Diamond and other specifications, processes and procedures
Financial
· Follow Diamond accounting procedures for travel and maintenance reimbursement
Network Technical Support
· Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Fiber Optic Plant Technical Support
· Inside and outside fiber optic plant installation
· Troubleshoot and correct all fiber optic network anomalies
· Underground fiber optic cable locating
General
· Complete basic maintenance procedures as required
· Assist with Telecom Plant Construction and Business Development activities as required
· Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner
· Position will be located in northwest Wyoming for the period from May 1 through Oct 31 (Housing can be arranged if primary residence not in this area)
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Detailed knowledge and understanding of fiber optic networking, outside and inside plant cabling, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunications operations
· Two years of fiber optic installation or construction experience
· Detailed knowledge and understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking a must
· Cisco network training a plus
· Adran Total Access training a plus
· Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
· Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Experience capturing data and preparing reports
· Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office applications.
· The ability to multi-task, handling numerous concurrent requests in an extremely fast-paced environment
· Must be able to climb and work at various heights
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
· Must be willing to perform a wide range of tasks in a variety of environments:
· Professional appearance and demeanor
· Available to work holidays, weekends and evenings as needed
· Available to respond to emergency network outages within 4 hours of notification
· Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
· Must currently process and maintain a valid driver’s license
· Must pass and remain in compliance with United States Federal Government background check and drug free workplace policies
· Must be able to function as a responsible team member
· Willing, available, and ability to travel as required for operational activities and success
· Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
· Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills
