Director of Operations (Specialty/Electronics Plant) OVERVIEW The operation for which the Director of Operations has management responsibility is primarily a plant that produces specialty & electronics gases. The plant employs approximately 100 people, and generates $80 $100 Million per year of product revenue. The Director of Operations also has management responsibility for several "satellite" storage & distribution locations spread around the U.S. SAFETY Responsible for providing a safe environment for all employees. Responsible for Accident and Incident investigations. Responsible for acceptance/review of customer orders for safety and quality. Administration of the company safety program and the maintaining of good employee relations. DESCRIPTION Directs and manages Facilities, Production, Distribution, Planning and Lab departments to ensure compliance with customer expectations and established standards. Responsible for the performance of plant employees and activities. Directs and controls the local production planning and scheduling, purchasing and inventory control and effectively maintains production flow (raw materials, finished stock, etc.) to meet customer requirements. Develop appropriate operating procedures and guidelines to ensure reliability and quality expectations are achieved. Investigate quality issues and determine root causes using corporate methodology. Maintains and monitors quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement throughout the organization. Meets with customers as needed to explain quality systems & processes, including customer audits of the plant operations and incident investigations. REQUIREMENTS Bachelors' degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Business and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience. IS09001 and Six Sigma training preferred. MBA preferred.
