Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities:
- Perform land surveying activities to gather data for civil engineering projects
- Utilize Civil 3D software to create and modify engineering drawings
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Collect and analyze data related to construction projects
- Assist in the design and build process of civil engineering projects
- Apply mathematical principles to solve engineering problems
- Estimate construction costs and prepare project budgets
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed engineering drawings
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information System) software to analyze spatial data
- Prepare technical reports and documentation related to civil engineering projects
Experience:
- Previous experience in land surveying or civil engineering is preferred
- Proficiency in Civil 3D software for drafting and design purposes
- Knowledge of construction inspection techniques and procedures
- Strong data collection and analysis skills
- Solid understanding of mathematical concepts relevant to civil engineering
- Familiarity with construction estimating methods and practices
- Experience using CAD software for creating engineering drawings
- Knowledge of GIS software for spatial analysis purposes
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation
