Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent is required.

    Preferred Educational Qualifications:

    • Master's in business administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Administration.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Oversee the Department of Engineers, managing short and long-term planning and administrative functions.
    • Collaborate with team members, managers, stakeholders, and operations to ensure successful project execution.
    • Analyze, propose, and manage project resources and budgets to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
    • Lead the hiring process for new team members, supervise the current team of engineers, and identify training opportunities for professional development.
    • Evaluate team members' performance and provide input to address challenges.
    • Maintain and oversee appropriate revision control methods.
    • In partnership with product management, design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources.
    • Review and update policies and procedures applicable to the engineering teams.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, MBA is preferred.
    • 5-10 years of industry or related industry experience.
    • Work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position.
    • Extensive experience with mechanical design and manufacturing environments.
    • Strong Supply Chain, Finance and Quality Assurance experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability in analyzing, proposing, and managing project resources and budgets.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
