Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. We are seeking an Engineer IV.
This job is located on-site at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA.
ESN is seeking an Engineer IV to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PEO Carriers with Engineering Management Documentation Support for New Construction CVNs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Update metrics, spreadsheets, and reports pertaining to Work Package completion on New Construction CVN(s) weekly.
· Attend Weekly HME TTL meeting to explain graphs and metrics from updates on Mondays.
· Update metrics and graphs on Thursdays for weekly Production and Schedule meetings.
· Update Agenda for Bi-weekly Government Management Team (GMT).
· Lead GMT Agenda meeting and update agenda with input from meeting.
· Update weekly AWE metrics for PMS 378 with data provided from NNS.
· Update AWE Schedule Metrics for PMS 378.
Experience Requirement:
· Five (5) years' experience in shipyard and data analysis.
Education Requirement:
· BS degree in engineering, desired not required.
Security Clearance:
· Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance.
