Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. Works closely with the Network Department Chair/Health Care Service (HCS) leader to support fiscally responsible and high quality operations. Provides UVMHN Medical Group administrative support for the HCS physician leader and physicians across the UVM Health Network. Collaborates with Medical Group Directors and other administrative leaders for matters relating to UVMHN Medical Group (UVMHNMG). Manages professional contracts, salaries and other services for the physicians. Responsible for the preparation and management of professional and Larner College of Medicine (LCOM) finances and budgets, including external contracts for Hospital Medicine services, as well as oversight and administrative support for research, grants and education.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field required. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration or a related area.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a health care financial management setting, preferably in an academic physician practice.
