Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer - Senior to support United States Space Force (USSF) in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats.     The Opportunity:
    • Perform configuration, test, deployment and maintenance to all network equipment
    • Validate new and existing dataflow and data formats
    • Oversee the support to all network equipment
    • Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components
    • Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools
    • Configure and maintain organizations network diagrams and accreditations
    • Lead the design, integration, test and deploy solutions to established network issues
    • Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VOIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP) and network address translation (NAT).
    • Coordinate with system engineering and integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies
    • Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements

    What Sets You Apart:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty; with 10 or more years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 8 years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • JNCDA or JNCDS-DC certification

    You Might Also Have:
    • Familiarity & knowledge with: SIMP Project, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL
    • CCNA certification.

    Clearance Needed:
    • U.S. citizenship with a current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

    Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
