Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team and support our network infrastructure. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will work closely with our IT team and other stakeholders to identify and resolve network issues, implement new technologies, and provide ongoing support. If you have a strong background in network engineering and are passionate about delivering high-quality solutions, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (where you will split your time between the office and remote work).

    What You'll Do

    You will work closely with information technology teams, Wabash Valley Power internal departments and external business partners to design, implement and support network infrastructure to meet business needs, IT initiatives and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, optimization and day-to-day operation of enterprise networks and all of its related technologies including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, public/private telco circuits, point to point VPN’s, and the associated equipment.

    Maintain a secure network infrastructure for Wabash Valley corporate and field networks by performing upgrades, maintain VPNs, leading network design/testing, coordinating network access, and installing network firewalls, switches and routers.

    Deploy and configure network monitoring systems and alerting to maintain optimal network system performance.

    Create and maintain all disaster recovery and regulatory compliance documentation, configuration details and software necessary for recovery of corporate computing and networking environment.

    Work with Wabash Valley Power membership to design, configure and secure interoperable networks for critical and back office systems. Support Wabash Valley Power membership by assisting in network troubleshooting and support.

    Work with Technology Security team to implement and support Cyber security solutions for Wabash Valley Power and its membership.
