The Information Technology Department is responsible for the implementation, provision and support of all Information and Technology services within the organization and health system. The department supports and contributes to the objectives of the organization. Members of this department are expected to fit into the organizations culture and be committed to providing a high quality of service to customers. The IT Technology Team is responsible globally for the design, development, management, architecture, operation and full lifecycle of all network, server, and security equipment, including but not limited to: WANs, LANs, internet connectivity, all internal cabling/patching, security appliances, other network appliances, including the underlying network load balancing capabilities, servers, storage area networks, unified communications and remote network connectivity, whether hosted on premise or in third-party locations operating under contract with Billings Clinic or the Billings Clinic Health System. This also includes all datacenter management, equipment, and services. As a member of the IT Technology Team the Senior Network Engineer designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting organizational strategies and initiatives. Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing, firewall, and wireless infrastructure. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies to determine impact on network capacity and develop projections for future needs. Provides recommendations for upgrades, associated costs, and projected timeline of implementations. The Senior Network Engineer provides project management and oversight of network infrastructure implementations, including vendor management and coordination of vendor resources. This position is responsible for network documentation and policy design/compliance. Leads the network engineering team in the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery, security, back up and restoration plans. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components. Responsible for coaching and mentoring network engineering specialists to investigate and improve IT infrastructure of the organization. Reports to the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager.

supporting organizational strategies and initiatives. The Senior Network
Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where
the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable
factors. Serves as the primary technology resource for the assessment and
mapping of current and future conditions with gap identification/analysis,
design, implementation, on-going development and maintenance of network
infrastructure. Coordinates closely with Billings Clinic Leadership, staff
members, Information Technology staff, key stakeholders including affiliates,
managed and non-managed sites, and software/hardware vendors for the planning,
analysis, design, implementation, evaluation and support of network
infrastructure. STRATEGY: Acts as a liaison and expert resource for network infrastructure
with the end-user community, clinicians and/or software/hardware vendor to
identify problems and concerns regarding the overall performance and/or
effectiveness of the technologies and workflows that impact users. Researches,
analyzes and provides recommendations for corrective action to resolve problems
with the internal functionality of the system and/or integration of information
between systems. Collaborates with clients and technical resources and/or
software/hardware vendor with recommendations for system enhancements, detailed
information regarding technical or functionality problems and assists with
implementation of recommended fixes. PATIENT SAFETY and QUALITY: Monitors the environment, technology and infrastructure to
support optimal patient care and prevention of adverse events. POLICY and PROCEDURE / REGULATORY: Ensures network infrastructure and corresponding policies and
procedures, related to Health IT, follow appropriate Practice Acts, and other
applicable regulations and standards. OTHER DUTIES: Performs additional duties as defined for specific IT Senior
Network Engineer Role. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the
