Network Control Center Supervisor supervises network control technicians in the daily activities of a network service function to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure operations that meet users' needs. Oversees routine testing, configuration changes, or network hardware or software upgrades. Being a Network Control Center Supervisor ensures network traffic and performance monitoring processes are running to identify and troubleshoot any issues. Responds to incidents using standard incident management processes, including root cause analysis (RCA) of any issues to identify and deploy corrective actions. Additionally, Network Control Center Supervisor coordinates with vendors and service providers to ensure required service and quality levels are delivered. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Control Center Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Control Center Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Support our customers by solving Tier II escalated service tickets 
    • Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining network systems
    • Research and troubleshoot alerts generated from servers and workstations
    • Monitor Webroot Portal; install/reinstall as needed
    • Perform proactive scans and troubleshoot vulnerability alerts
    • Assist on installing RMM agents on devices 
    • Create maintenance window on ITS portal
    • Work with vendors on maintenance  
    • Setup new backups
    • Assist the Help Desk team on file restore requests
    • Assist on server Bare Metal restore
    • Perform Local/Cloud DR tests
    • Assist on setting up OS Patch Policies against servers and workstations 
    • Deploy and troubleshoot OS patches issues on servers and workstations
    • Install DSM firmware updates on NAS devices 
    • Schedule after hours server reboots for patching
    • Implements timely solutions to customer issues or escalates internally as appropriate
    • Data center tasks including system upgrades, migrations, break fix, etc. 
    • Ensures network integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions for network devices and datacenter infrastructure 
    • Conducts routine network hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established policies and configuration guidelines
    • Develops and updates network documentation
    • Implements various minor projects that enhance network availability, security and data integrity
    • Troubleshoots problems with network outages, peripherals, software applications and operating systems within established standards and guidelines
    • Ensures the availability of applications that require network services
    • Assists in maintaining LAN/WAN computer connectivity throughout the network
    • Develops processes and procedures for ongoing management of the network environment
    • Participates in an on-call rotation schedule with team members
    • All other duties, as assigned 

    Skills:

    • Level 1 & 2 help desk experience required
    • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), networks and systems such as HP and Dell   
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 
    • Experience with LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies   
    • Knowledge in implementation and troubleshooting network devices   
    • Technical knowledge of storage, virtualization, and compute across multiple vendors   
    • Experience working with diverse environments   
    • Demonstrated positive and professional interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communications skills   
    • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, detail-oriented and time management skills  
    • Consistently maintains a high level of attention to detail  
    • Works independently and collaboratively to resolve problems
    • Strong documentation skills   
    • Adaptability to changing priorities   
    • Positive teamwork skills

    Experience and Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT field, preferred 
    • 2 years of network operations experience within a Managed Services Provider environment 
    • Technical certifications a plus or willingness to obtain certifications, preferably from the following vendors:  Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Extreme, EMC 

    Other:

    • Prefer valid driver’s license and access to transportation
