Overview
The Manager, Network Operations Center (NOC) is responsible for leading a team of NOC Operators responsible for providing Tiers 1 and 2 support to customers in a 24x7 work environment. This role will facilitate as needed between the NOC Team and the Technical Operations, Network Engineering, and Infrastructure Engineering teams, as additional points of escalation. Responsibilities
-Oversee the operation, maintenance, reliability, and quality of transmission for the NOC.
-Oversee the daily operations of the NOC and ensure the team is properly staffed, trained, and equipped to provide level 1 and 2 support to our customers.
-Ensure that the NOC is meeting defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for our customers.
-Continuously evaluate and improve the operational support and maintenance procedures focused on avoiding unscheduled service interruptions and achieving best in class customer support.
-Coordinate and collaborate with Manager, Technical Operations and Manager, Teleport Engineering & Facilities to ensure alignment with cross-functional processes and procedures, and delineation of teleport and customer support responsibilities.
-Build a winning team through recruitment, training, and development with meaningful, timely feedback and recognition.
-Develop, document, and ensure compliance with NOC processes and procedures.
-Act as a point of technical escalation and support, as needed.
-Assign and manage workload and shift work schedules.
-Provide off-hour, weekend, and holiday on-call response, as needed. Qualifications
-U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government issued secret security clearance and the ability to maintain this clearance.
-5 years of technical experience in the satellite communications and/or broadcast industry.
-5 years of experience leading and mentoring a team.
-Team leader with the ability to formulate and implement effective strategies in a technical environment.
-Ability to create positive working relationships internally with team members and other departments, and externally with customers of varying size and scope.
-Broad knowledge and understanding of a wide range of satellite communications products, services, and infrastructure incorporating very small aperture terminal (VSAT), airborne ISR/COTOM, teleport, broadcast, and mobile satellite services for mission critical applications.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
-Ability and willingness to provide on-call support, as needed. Valued but not required skills and experience: -Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent Military experience and training (e.g., Army MOS 25S; Air Force AFSC 2E1X1). About UltiSat
