Network Control Center Manager manages the daily activities of a network service function to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure operations that meet users' needs. Directs testing, configuration changes, or upgrades to network hardware or software. Being a Network Control Center Manager oversees monitoring of the network traffic and performance to identify and troubleshoot any issues. Leads incident response and implements standard incident management processes, including root cause analysis (RCA) of any issues to identify and deploy corrective actions. Additionally, Network Control Center Manager develops capacity planning forecasts and strategies. Manages relations with vendors and service providers and monitors performance quality to ensure required service levels are delivered. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Network Control Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Control Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a NOC Tech you will provide Tier 1 & 2 network support, network monitoring, escalated customer service for VIP customers, and service order fulfillment across the enterprise.     Qualifications

    You are required to have:

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience with basic WAN networking technologies
    • Experience with or solid knowledge of Cisco networking devices, LAN, WAN, OSPF routing, Windows OS (all), TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, antivirus, e-mail and internet applications, remote access and familiarity with various computer hardware
    • Ability to work some nights and weekends
    • Ability to take charge in an outage situation
    • Demonstrated critical thinking abilities
    • Troubleshooting, analyzing and problem solving
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills

    Additional preferred qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in Networking Administration or equivalent
    • CCNA
    • Network or CCENT or equivalent education
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Experience with or solid knowledge of IS-IS, MPLS, and monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Cacti, Splunk
    • Scripting and SQL database experience
    • In depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies

    Schedule

    Our shifts consist of four 10-hour days, typically Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday, Holidays included. Shifts start at different times of the day based on business needs. Typically they start between 7:00-10:00 am, 12:00-14:00 pm or 21:00-23:00 pm. Techs rotate through the shifts every six months and receive a generous shift differential for overnight hours. Rotation allows for a full range of experience with our network and your future development with us.

    Location

    This position can be located in Roseville, MN or Perham, MN or remote possibility in Minnesota.
