Network Control Center Manager manages the daily activities of a network service function to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure operations that meet users' needs. Directs testing, configuration changes, or upgrades to network hardware or software. Being a Network Control Center Manager oversees monitoring of the network traffic and performance to identify and troubleshoot any issues. Leads incident response and implements standard incident management processes, including root cause analysis (RCA) of any issues to identify and deploy corrective actions. Additionally, Network Control Center Manager develops capacity planning forecasts and strategies. Manages relations with vendors and service providers and monitors performance quality to ensure required service levels are delivered. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Kratos Space is seeking an experienced Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager.

    Join a team that shares your passion for innovation and technology, where you will apply your skills and ideas to projects you care about. The NOC Manager plays a key role with the following day to day essentials:
    • Perform daily management of the NOC to ensure that all performance and contractual requirements are being met.
    • Ensure effectiveness of the NOC shift schedule to include structure, information exchange, and timely attendance of all NOC personnel in accordance with published guidance. Utilize existing tools/resources to set tasking priorities to each shift and document the shifts responding to actions.
    • Review training of NOC personnel with NOC Training Specialist. Schedule evaluation of NOC personnel to evaluate skill sets and training effectiveness through ADP.
    • Develop and maintain a method of mentoring NOC personnel to assume the next higher role (Shift Lead, Technical Lead, Data Analyst, Advanced Operations, Service Deployment, etc). Collaborate with the Director of KGSN Operations on implementation.
    • Periodically evaluate NOC training documentation with the NOC Training Specialist to ensure effectiveness and relevancy.
    • Ensure the accuracy of Service Delivery Landing Page and NOC (Productions) Playbook in accordance with current ISO guidelines.
    • Periodically evaluate existing NOC procedures to ensure effectiveness and relevancy to ISO standards. Collaborate with the Director of KGSN Operations on implementation of revisions and improvements.
    • Collaborate with AdvOps, Service Deployment, and Service Management on developing new procedures and guidelines as the Service Delivery continues to expand.
    • Serve as point of contact for the NOC during customer demos and NOC tours as directed by the Director of KGSN Operations.
    • Perform primary customer interface and respond as required to provide a proactive, customer focused NOC.
    • Author, publish, and manage the shift schedule to ensure appropriate 24x7 NOC staffing.
    • Provide guidance to Shift Supervisors regarding charging time to specified project codes. Monitor time charge for accuracy and timeliness, review and approve time sheets per corporate guidelines.
    • Augment the shift schedule to ensure 24x7 operations as required.
    • Perform other duties as required.
    Required Experience:

    • Minimum ten years related experience in military and/or commercial SATCOM Earth Terminal and/or Network Operations Centers.
    • Minimum two year’s work experience in the Kratos Spectral Services NOC is strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in all NOC subsystems.
    • Demonstrated strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), training/mentoring, interpersonal and computer-based application skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiencies in Network Operation Center (NOC) procedures, guidelines, and methodologies.
    • Proven operations expertise in commercial and military satellite RF signals monitoring, Signal Analysis and Geolocation.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the technical characteristics of commercial and military satellites, including frequency plans, payload configurations, antenna coverage patterns and transponder interconnectivity and characteristics.
    • Experience with an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based Service Operations group supporting Request, Incident, Problem, Change, and Event Management disciplines. Experience as Incident Manager strongly preferred.


    Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering and/or equivalent military or civilian technical school training.
    Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and minimum of a current DOD SECRET (S) on day of hire with the ability to maintain active clearance throughout employment. Possession of an Interim SECRET (IS) clearance at day of hire may be considered.

    Competitive salary based on experience and education

    Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 yearly
