This Full Time position will coordinate strategies to design, build, and implement organization-wide voice and data networks.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, configure, install, maintain, support, and optimize all local area network connections, network devices, and protocols associated with software and communication links.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues, analyzes network traffic, and provides capacity planning solutions.
- Design, maintain, and support voice and data network infrastructure and associated software, including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless, and other network communication with the goal of ensuring optimal function and minimal downtime.
- Install and configure network hardware and equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless equipment, etc.
- Configure, manage, and analyze new and existing internetwork connectivity via VPN or other methods with Business Associates.
- Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
- Integrate these systems with enterprise LANs, WANs, wireless LANs, and Internet-based services and protocols.
- Ensure networks are protected from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data by developing and monitoring security procedures or collaborating with security staff.
- Monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Plan and implement improvements, modifications, or replacements of network infrastructure components.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future network needs.
- Configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user network connectivity and connected devices.
- Install, inspect, and maintain network cabling, voice-data jacks, and other network-related equipment.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery and Incident Response planning and execution.
- Maintains current knowledge of products, services, protocols, and standards in support of telecommunication systems development and equipment procurement.
- Provide on-call technical support in conjunction with service-level agreements.
- Cross-train as needed to assist other IT functions.
- Create and maintain documentation such as diagrams, checklists, and knowledge base documents related to IT networks and related systems.
- Participate in off-hours maintenance activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 1-2 years of related experience; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Related IT certifications such as A , and Network are highly preferred.
A South Dakota driver's license is required.
Required Skills:
- Windows server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, Cisco networking.
- Knowledge of networking and network-connected devices.
- Must have problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to deal tactfully with hospital personnel.
