  • Duties

    • Cleans hallways, offices, laboratories, and restrooms by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, and mopping.
    • Keeps restrooms clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
    • Uses various preparations to clean and maintain linoleum, wood, marble, and various kinds of floor, wall, and ceiling surfaces.
    • Set up conference rooms for meetings, seminars, and conferences by arranging tables and chairs.
    • Moves heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment and performs work that may involve the use of a ladder.
    • Uses heavy industrial type cleaning equipment such as powered scrubbers and buffers.
    • Cleans and oils powered cleaning equipment and changes brushes and accessories.

    Qualifications

    In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following by the closing date of the vacancy announcement: 03/15/2024. Qualifications will be determined under the Job Element Rating System X-118C, Qualifications Standard Handbook. While a specific length of time and experience is not required for most Wage Grade positions, you must show through experience and training that you possess the best qualified level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of this position. Qualification requirements emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length. The responses to the questionnaire and your resume should be in significant detail to provide the person rating your application with a good understanding of your ability to do the job, technical knowledge, work, and training experience, etc. (For example You must have the ability to perform the duties of a, Custodial Worker without more than normal supervision (Screen Out)).     Physical Effort
    • Light to moderate physical effort is required. Position requires continual standing, bending, stooping, and reaching, and occasional lifting and carrying of moderately heavy objects.
    Working Conditions
    • Incumbent works inside and out with adequate light, heat, and ventilation. May be subject to injury if working from ladders to skin irritations from using strong cleaning solutions, or to minor cuts, scrapes, or bruises. Is exposed to dirt, dust, and disagreeable odors.
