MULTIMEDIA SERVICES MANAGER manages a staff of technical production specialists that contribute to and produce multi-platform communications including broadcast, web, social media, and print. Oversees and coordinates graphic design, copywriting, production, and printing processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates and plans program activities, makes volunteer assignments to specific work areas or services and special events.
Solicits community volunteers through public speaking engagements, tours, news media, and correspondence.
Orients volunteers to the program, population served, and work areas, and coordinates service resources with program needs.
Reports volunteer results and services performed.
Coordinates Community Educational Programs when requests arise.
Performs clerical tasks in recording and documenting work performed.
Answers phones and responds to inquiries and complaints, as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Cooperative Extension
Recruits, screens, and identifies individuals to become interns and new 4-H volunteers and Master Food Volunteers.
Engages current volunteers for ongoing educational opportunities.
Oversees and participates in volunteer recognition programs and special events.
Maintains complete files and provides support for all Union County Cooperative Extension program volunteers including the volunteer reporting database.
Works with program advisory boards and other volunteer committees to carry out county-sponsored activities, events, by promoting, marketing, and using social media in compliance with state and local Council policy and guidelines.
Manages and schedules Union County Extension’s social media page with regular content.
Creates community partnerships to foster and enhances program support and development.
Posts events on the Extension Calendar and reports attendance (including Civil Rights).
Supports Union County Cooperative Extension committees in coordinating efforts to schedule educational events for the public.
Maintains the NCSU Extension and Outreach – Union County website.
Develops Union County Cooperative Extension displays for the office and for external events.
Ensures adequate branding of NC State Extension and confirms that materials are in accordance with the NC State Extension Marketing and Communications guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED) with four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, typewriters, printers, telephones, calculators, copiers, fax machines, postage machines, charge machines, answering machines, paper cutters, intercom, etc. Must be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work. The job is rated for Light Work.
