Associate Financial Planner

We are seeking a Financial Planner to support our growing team. The right candidate for this position will be knowledgeable in financial planning topics and wealth management.  This candidate will be comfortable working in a growing and evolving team-based environment.  We are an independent, boutique firm that employs a ‘family office’ model. We work with affluent Canadians with a net worth in excess of $3 million. Our services include investment management, financial planning, tax & accounting, real estate & development and mortgages and financing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Discuss clients’ long-term financial objectives, identifying and obtaining necessary client information to prepare comprehensive financial plans
  
• Input client information in financial planning software
  
• Liaise with accountants and lawyers to obtain required information for financial plans
  
• Assist in building comprehensive financial plans for clients
  
• Create financial planning models and financial planning reports for clients
  
• Engage with clients on a regular basis to provide client service and support
  
• Complete new account documentation and update client information accordingly
  
• Complete subscription agreements
  
• Place unsolicited trades and trades as directed by the Wealth Advisor
  
• Communicate investment strategies with clients
  
• Complete registered plan contributions & withdrawals, electronic fund transfers, bank transfers and account transfers  
  
• Prepare portfolio reports and send tax information to clients as requested
  
• To maintain compliance with all securities regulations
  
• To always maintain the confidential nature of work
  

Qualification requirements

Education

• Successful completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct & Practices Handbook Exam
  
• Successful completion of relevant financial planning designations
