This role is responsible for providing Pre- and Post-Sales technical support to Yaskawa Sales Channels and users of Servo and Motion Control products and technology.  Providing product, application and process knowledge on automation products, systems, projects and solutions are key focuses in our Motion Division.

The Regional Motion Engineer have:

Responsibilities:

• To provide sustained regional pre- and post-sales technical support to Yaskawa sales channels and users of Servo and Motion Control products and technology, for a wide variety of industry applications within North and South America.
• To provide product, application, and process knowledge on automation products, systems, projects, and solutions that meet YEA industry standards.
• Represent YEA in a professional and competent manner, which instills confidence in the customer, and develop relationships with customers in order to enhance the utilization of YEA products and services offerings.
• Act as liaison to effectively communicate Yaskawa positioning statements and quality image to customers of Yaskawa products.
• Interface closely with sales, product marketing, engineering peers, management, and other staff to solve customer problems.
• Provide technical expertise to assist customers in the use of YEA products and services to improve their application and industry process capabilities.
• Provide timely assist to Application Engineering group, Product Marketing, Product Engineering, and Sales on product release, product promotion, and collateral requirements.
• Will consistently improve and refine technical and product knowledge skills to achieve success.

Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent related work experience
• Minimum of 2-5 years of field experience involving Yaskawa or competitor product lines, applications and projects.
• Understands and is knowledgeable in discrete automation solutions specifically in the Servo Motion Control area.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft OS, Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Project, CAD programming environments, etc.
• Software Expertise: PLC Programming, Structure text (such as C, Basic, VB)
• Experience with Industrial Networks: Devicenet, Profibus, RS232/485 serial communications, and Ethernet with Modbus or EthernetIP protocols (network analyzer tool experience is desirable).
• Strong working knowledge of electrical field test equipment (scope, multi-meter, power analyzer).
• Experience Tuning Servo Loop Gains (Position and Speed).
• Experience with Electrical Noise analysis, grounding and shielding techniques.
• Field service experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including technical writing and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
