Motion Graphic Designer conceptualizes, designs, develops and executes 2D and 3D motion graphics and animations for web, mobile, and other digital platforms. Utilizes sketches, storyboards and animatics to develop concepts. Being a Motion Graphic Designer creates complex graphics, animation, and video content. Works with UI designers and developers to integrate graphics into the overall design of projects. Additionally, Motion Graphic Designer proficient with a variety of visual and audio design and editing tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, design or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Motion Graphic Designer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Receives and reviews orders from the Lead Graphic Designer insuring that required sign specifications have been satisfied.
Creates layouts using Corel Draw, Flexi Sign, Photoshop and other graphic programs for sign fabrication. Provides shop drawings for Sales Representatives and other internal customers.
Performs as the first line of quality control.
Coordinates with originator of sales order to verify any additional information that is needed.
Maintains daily logs which record the amount of time used for all graphic design activities.
Assists other graphics staff with layout problems or orders.
Maintains and organizes graphic files in computer network. Reviews MUTCD* codes to ensure files are current.
Works with Lead Graphic Designer to learn new trends and techniques in computer assisted design work.
Monitors inventory of all inks, laminate and digital printing substrates; notifies Lead Graphics Designer of any problems impacting proper inventory levels.
Maintains equipment, performs minor service including, but not limited to, changing blades and ink, purging hoses, tightening belts, & cleaning print heads.
Performs all aspects of digital printing, vinyl cutting and CNC Routing including, but not limited to, opening computer files and RIPing, loading/unloading materials, calibrating machines for material and color, laminating prints with film laminator and performing quality control checks.
Maintains accurate records of all time and materials used for digital printing, vinyl cutting, laminating, and CNC Routing.
Assist as needed with sign fabrication and installation including but not limited to vinyl laydown, vehicle wraps, post mount and wall mount.
