Mortgage Underwriter jobs in Minnesota

Think Mutual Bank has an exciting opportunity as a Consumer/Mortgage Underwriter. In this key position, you will support the underwriting function for mortgage and consumer loans provided by Think. As an expert in credit and underwriting, you will act as a key resource and consultant to banking staff by helping recognize opportunities for our customers to improve their financial well-being.

As an Underwriter your daily job duties will consist of:

• Underwriting files in accordance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, State and Federal laws, Fair Credit, and secondary market requirements.
• Perform credit analysis and analyze applications, business/personal financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, income and asset documentation, title reports, and applicable financial ratios
• Assessing loan risk and determine and document acceptable compensating factors for loan approvals; ensure risk is managed through appropriate loan conditions
• Providing credit and lending expertise to front line staff to ensure an outstanding, seamless experience for the customer
• Providing recommendations regarding changes and enhancements to credit guidelines, procedures and processes.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of underwriting or lending experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a closely related field preferred
• Associate's degree in business, finance, or a closely related field required

This is an optional hybrid role with up to 2 days remote per week.
